In one of those videos they were using the turkey to clean the gutters, you can see the leaves in the gutters still burning!

1) Thaw completely (check the inside cavity!)

Normally I'm a "wait until Thanksgiving to start Christmas stuff" kinda person, but it's been a pretty shit year so I say bring on the Santa and the jolly. Crank the Donny Hathaway and pour me a hot toddy.

It's fall, so time to make some fall spice syrup. No pumpkin in this, it has all the warming spices and a mix of white and brown sugar to give it plenty of caramel notes. Toasted the spices for 30 seconds, bring to a boil, then simmer 45 minutes.

I really feel for my neighbors who are on furlough. They're not going to go hungry, but that doesn't mean they're not going to face struggles this winter. One is saying he thinks this will go through November, the other works at a department that is actively trying to get everyone to quit (EPA)
