i think its good that bluesky is boring and you dont want to scroll through it too much because you're not supposed to waste your day away scrolling on social media when you could be using the computer to play & draw & learn before the corporations destroy the rest of the internet. tick tock
new LinkedIn photo just dropped 💅
I LIKE MY NEW JOB.
No longer going to have "Manager" in job title (Business Office Manager), but officially signed a position to start as an HR Generalist ✅

🧵 Thread of the backstory:
had a cool new fun happy life event happen the past few days and I hope I can write about it soon once some more details are finalized
Today, I can say I have lofty goals for my professional career, for photography, for content creation, and for my personal quests. Goals that seem more realistic today than they were years ago.

That's progress.
I got my BA in 3 years, an achievement that is extremely rare, but something that took me a LONG time to validate to myself if it was the right choice to make. I did eventually reach that point.

Now, I want to reach the point of growing past my years of unemployment, and be fully grateful instead.
Of those 4 years of unemployment, some I can say I'm grateful for, and some I have bitter resentment for. Some, not even my fault.

I think what whittles me is the lost potential: experience, money, relationships. But I don't want to fall into a trap of overworking myself to make up for "lost time."
Probably not doing a service to myself, but I've been thinking about how I spent 4 of the past 9 years unemployed (graduating from undergrad 9 years ago).

I start a new job on Monday, in a position at a company that I believe shows promise. Another chance to grow.
Sometimes, it's going on a YT binge of GP and laughing with a joke you made. It's being excited to reconnect at events. It's sharing something that may be small to you, but big for someone else.

Your feelings are valid. You want to do more for others 🤍, but don't do so at the expense of yourself.
My TwitchCon hotel roommate took this photo of me and captioned it:

"James the Rock, posing as paint me like one of your French girls"
AND ALL THE FOOOOD.

Had the blessed opportunity to attend the YouTube Creator Collective, as a Creator 💕 #YouTubeCreators. Had a wonderful time meeting people and sharing free food, free drinks, and free swag!

(I don't share about it, but I started a YouTube channel over the last year for a gacha game I play.)
Attended the Voice Acting Meets Streaming panel, led by some amazing talent: @curiousjoi.gg, @itsbrianawhite.bsky.social, @katybentz.bsky.social, @damienhaas.bsky.social, and @brizzyvoices.bsky.social.

Below are some of my favorite shots. You can tell how much fun they had!!
Always a fan of @watchgirlsplay.bsky.social!! Thank you @maddiegptv.bsky.social and @ohhaimar.bsky.social for the kindness and positivity you spread within your community 🖤. I appreciate your friendship and for taking the time to take a photo with me!

Missing friends from #twitchcon already but happy to plan for the future!
Inspiring. Love this for you 🤍
After TwitchCon, I think I only have one more local con this year.

Should probably start projecting my events for 2026 soon. We either:
- reel it back and focus on my soon-to-be new day job
- RESTART MY CONTENT CREATOR ERA??!?!? 👀

(but really, I should focus on my day job 🤣)
I am once again nervous about a con (TwitchCon) for no reason
I'm excited to see you both this weekend!!
Just want to say please feel welcome to reach out if you're ever looking for someone to talk to 🤍
A day after my final interview, I received the verbal offer 🥳!

This new job:
- <2 miles from where I live
- not in gaming or tech, and that's okay, because I've enjoyed everyone I've met
- more 💰

I'm healing, to say the least.
I patiently wait until mid-September. We check in with each other, and the Recruiter schedules interviews for me with the Hiring Manager, CHRO, and COO over the span of about a week.

I exited the final interview telling myself that I interviewed honestly and can only hope for the best from here.
