Everyone in the world comes to get married at the NYC Marriage Bureau. Last week, the Mayor stopped by to officiate a few of those ceremonies.

Thank you to all the couples who shared their joy with us. Happy Valentine's Day, New York.

remarkable that it only took ~2 years for the NYT to start victim shaming users of AI for their failure to identify the lies and inadvertent manipulations that are coded into the DNA of these applications. this technology is fundamentally incompatible with a society that values truth and nuance

Moltbook is Reddit for AI bots, and some people are freaking out about how amazing and sci-fi it is to see bots talk to each other. But..... it just sucks lol www.businessinsider.com/moltbook-ope...
Moltbook is about as fun as watching two Roombas bump into each other
Sorry, techies — watching how AI agents secretly talk to each other is just boring. The Epstein files showed me secret human convos are more gripping.

even if you accept that there is value in using LLM-based AI tools for general research and academic studies (which you probably shouldn't), it is UNBELIEVABLY pathetic that an adult professional thought an archive of ChatGPT conversations was a permanent record. just astonishingly bad judgement lol

After turning off ChatGPT’s ‘data consent’ option, Marcel Bucher lost the work behind grant applications, teaching materials and publication drafts. Here’s what happened next.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

mamdani thinks that everyone should be able to live with dignity, and that he so explicitly associates dignity with not only material needs but also rest and joy and art is so refreshing and important. if he is successful it will be an historical achievement that will change the future of the US
