RTs appreciated.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

Check out my appearance on City Cast Seattle, a new show about Seattle news and politics! Really enjoyed our time talking about important local issues, including federal funding cuts to permanent housing that could profoundly impact the Seattle region.
What is "Seattle nice"? @ericacbarnett.bsky.social tells us what the phrase means to her.

Seattleites! City Cast Portland talked smack about Seattle on their pod last week, and we're recording a joint episode soon to determine, once and for all, which city is the best. Give us some ammo to bring to the showdown: what does Seattle do better than Portland?

Host @janehu.bsky.social had always wondered what the deal is with Amazon's banana stand — what could it cost, $10? — so we went to go check it out.

genuinely curious if any of the Washington Post editorial board members behind this piece about Wilson has stepped foot in Seattle in the last year.

i kinda wish bruce rapped in his speech today
Harrell has worked in plenty jokes, mentioning he's the type to joke at a funeral since "it's when you need it most." Jokes he wants to get into acting and rapping as "MC B. Ru Ce."

Friday afternoon ballot count drop:
- Wilson's closed the gap by nearly 4 points since yesterday- she now has 48.8% of the vote to Harrell's 50.7%
- Girmay leading Balducci 53.25% to 45.5%

46% of ballots counted - if King County's estimate of 55% turnout stands, still a ways to go!

that sound you hear is every seattle journalist sighing very loudly before getting up to make another cup of coffee
Per King County elections, expect around 30,000 ballots in Seattle's drop today. Seems likely this thing is headed to next week.
