Hello everyone! It’s probably time for a quick introduction.
My favourite things on BlueSky are #chatbiology, #chatchemistry, and #chatphysics. I’m hoping that more immigration to BlueSky will give the evening chats a shot in the arm, as I don’t always have much to contribute depending on the topic.
This might be a nice trip down Memory Lane for anyone who studied Romeo and Juliet alongside Across the Barricades for their GCSE English exams back in the day #EduSkyUK

Joan Lingard: What was the legacy of the Kevin and Sadie books?
Joan Lingard's five-book series published during the 1970s captured the idea that young people could overcome conflict in Northern Ireland.

I think that’s the same now where students can be on a course where some have, and some haven’t got a grade 4 in E&M. Problem being that attendance to resit classes, in my experience, is low. Targets for passing are such that students are being set up to fail is an open secret.
I have questions around why these new English and maths qualifications shouldn’t just sit as compulsory modules within the body of whatever level 1 or 2 qualification the learner is undertaking. People need to continue to practice, regardless of their GCSE grade.
Enjoyed this one, in a “for goodness sake” kind of way.

Been a while since I've uploaded anything new to the site. I recently needed to make a new sheet on scalars on vectors, so have uploaded that here:

No way! I’m going to be there next week when I visit my parents. Which café? 🙌🏼
That was originally on my lost list, but lost myself is more obvious

What do you do for pupils who have missed lessons due to being absent?

Do you give extra work, catch up work, direct them somewhere etc? What does it look like?

Would appreciate RTs for a wider range 👍
Year 8 girls at school disco - could sing most of Super Bass (I got kudos for knowing all the words 🤣), anything Chappell Roan etc. For me, the difference is that it’d have been someone playing Brit pop on a guitar - hopefully in a few years of peripatetic lessons they will too 🤞🏼
It might not be ideal, but are the Oak lessons a decent starter for 10? I don’t use them for my lessons, but my school does use them for cover.
Saving the planet a minuscule washing up item at a time 🌍
I don’t think this is what they would have in mind - the complexity of the nearly the end of a half term coffee table.
It was ICONIC!!! So much so that one of my friends was convinced she was going to walk down the aisle to Angry Anderson. Her husband put his foot down, otherwise it would have happened. They had it as music for guests to walk in to instead.
I forgot Scott and Charlene’s wedding!
1. The miners strike
2. Live aid
3. Edwina Currie and the eggs
3. Finlay Calder captaining the Lions on their tour to Australia
4. John Gummer’s daughter refusing to eat a beef burger
Mercedes Benz is a top choice. Chapeau.
