As I look at more bad AI-generated code and code reviews, I'm reminded that AI does not have and does not understand *intent*. That goes for code, art, writing, and anything else someone might *think* is a good place to use genAI.

Every couple of months, Google finds a new way to absolutely piss me off and reconsider releasing apps on their platform. Just a fucking totally incompetent company.

Pretty sure there's a legal term for a group of people working together to cover up multiple murders.

What Democrats do: ask for money with the empty promise that they will do something.
What Democrats *should* be doing: do something and then ask for money based on having actually done things.

Want to be very clear to anyone even remotely thinking about coming to events like GDC: Don't. It's not safe to be in the US, nobody's hiring or financing anyway, and it's not worth your life.

Meanwhile a half-dozen democrats have texted or emailed so far today, saying they need money so they can "do something".

For some reason, Thoreau's "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience" has been on my mind again for the past few weeks.

These fuckers are almost certainly not even good at Call of Duty.
I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

All those people downtown yesterday, no ICE involvement, and not one incident. ICE shows up in a neighborhood and now another Minnesotan is dead. It's pretty obvious who the violent outside agitators are.

Auto-transcription of the voicemail from the county warning about the incoming storm seems on point: "Get out. Get out. Because I just seen this audio."

If you get snow this weekend and aren't familiar with it — or even if you are — shoveling is very tough work. This is a decent list of dos and don'ts… but I'd add don't do it *at all* if you're over 50. It's very hard on the heart, especially in extreme cold.

Assumptions when someone on a project says they added grok to it:
1. They're a Nazi
2. They just invited their Nazi friends to the bar
3. If the bar owner doesn't throw out the Nazis, it's now a Nazi bar

Guess I'm no longer including Indonesia in the list of countries where my games are available.

"Starting January 24, 2026, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) will require games in Indonesia to obtain and display an official Indonesia Games Rating System (IGRS) rating."

Unpopular opinion: Clair Obscur should not be receiving so many GotY awards.

The art and story are great. The gameplay varies between mediocre and downright bad.

The correct way to do this show: ply the guests with whiskey and get their stupid drunk-honest takes on things.

What I, based on *waves hands* assume this will be: Tony gets drunk and asks stupid questions of guests, who are not permitted access to the good stuff.
New: CBS News seems to be preparing a new segment called "Whiskey Fridays with Tony Dokoupil," per sources.

Some staff were only first made aware of it as they encountered CBS testing out set designs of a faux-stocked bar in the newsroom, featuring a large sponsor banner for Jack Daniels.

I'm all for rendering the fat of the rich to make soap as an alternative to just burning the rich, but "melt the ones you love" (current ad campaign on Twitch) might be going a *bit* far.

At least it's a change from the last month+ of 50% AI ads and 50% gambling ad I guess.
