curious why there wasn't already an ai filter, along with other heuristics to block the submissions... seems like an antiquated system that can't scale... hundreds of papers? just hundreds
arXiv will no longer accept review articles and position papers unless they have been accepted at a journal or a conference and complete successful peer review.

This is due to being overwhelmed by a hundreds of AI generated papers a month.

Yet another open submission process killed by LLMs.

People who received an mRNA-based Covid vaccine — it didn’t matter whether it was Pfizer or Moderna’s — up to 100 days before starting immunotherapy were twice as likely to be alive as those who either didn’t receive the vaccine or got it outside that time window.

What If the Covid Vaccine Could Save Cancer Patients Too?

I’ve always thought the problem with quantum computers is that they don’t cost nearly enough money (ideally, at least a million dollars per kg!), and should experience heavy vibrations and crushing G-forces after being calibrated. ⚛️🧪

whatever your position is on the big matrices in the sky you'd be disingenuous to deny that their affordance for (racist, etc) bullshit is—with a nod to brandolini—several orders of magnitude greater than anything load-bearing and thus useful
Again, this precise use case is why these systems exist-to proliferate people’s racist (transphobic, misogynistic…) imaginary at scale. This should not be seen as a “misuse” but rather the product being used exactly as intended.

Folks looking for evidence of SNAP recipients as welfare queens have no shortage of AI generated schlock to use as justification.

So... 60 Minutes is interviewing Trump again. You know, the same guy who called them fake news, sued them, and threatened to shut them down… But now CBS is owned by Paramount, and Paramount is run by his Ellison friends. Welcome to having state sponsored media. #cbs #60minutes #donaldtrump

Never take seriously those who ridicule low income people for having a smartphone or laptop.

“If they’re so poor how did they buy an iPhone???”

Because they’re trying to escape poverty, not the 1700s, genius. If you think basic tech access is luxury, survive a month without it.
