I was called to read Vonnegut’s Mother Night again. Its focus on complicity rings so much more clear in this now.
“Witnesses reported seeing 10 buses lined up to take people away. One worker said she ‘saw workers at the plant bound with plastic cuffs and heard women screaming about who would pick up their children.’”

This was at a Minnesota meatpacking plant back in 2006.

So, this should be The Fire Next Time but since I enjoyed this movie so much and I can't just choose ONE of Baldwin's writings, reading the screenplay was absolutely a delight and Peck did Baldwin justice in this filmic realisation of Baldwin's writings.
