The proposed shutdown bill allows eight GOP senators whose phone logs were seized during Jack Smith’s investigation of the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, to sue the govt for up to $500,000 apiece. They never fail in their self-serving pettiness even in a crisis.

Chuck Schumer should have been ousted as Senate Minority Leader a long time ago. He has lost influence over the Democrats he's supposed to lead. Even his own minority whip, Dick Durbin, did not stand with him on today's Senate vote. We can no longer afford his weakness and incompetence.
