I arrived after work today and sat on the couch with one of the twins, who was reading.

Spouse asks where he is:

“Oh, he’s with me, we’re just here, cuddling.”

And I kid you not, he looks at me lovingly, hugs me and cuddles next to me.

Why I despise refunds:

- they happen 2 months after the fact.
- you’re paying interest while you wait
- if you get a wire transfer you actually may pay fees.

It sucks.

It is predating on our young, and it sucks.

Honestly, the Gurdon is so special, and a great part of that is/was John.

To this day, it is the one place I would go back to.

But Sir John Gurdon was so full of life!

I recall a conversation over breakfast at the Gurdon Institute, where Sir John, about 80 at the time, was complaining about not quite being able to do figure 8s ice-skating.

I once had an uncle that was a famous, talented painter. I was very, very proud of him.

He was not a good person, at least not to us.

And I haven’t spoken to him in 24 years.

And now I don’t have an uncle that was a famous painter anymore and I don’t know how I feel.
