There’s a good book on this called Burying the Black Sox, about the sham trial that came out of it, and while it was probably best for the sport, kennesaw mountain landis was maybe the most racist man alive.
Also revisited the 1919 Black Sox scandal, which I learned caused no discernible harm to MLB’s business, just its image in the eyes of press. The first commissioner punished the Black Sox while enforcing a far worse violation of competitive integrity. frontofficesports.com/gambling-isn...

I get the Pilsen Community Books e-newsletter and they announced they’re moving, luckily to another part of Pilsen.
But the landlord in their current location on 18th and Carpenter raised their rent by 50%! Not sustainable for small businesses. Happy they are staying alive and expanding elsewhere.
