Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Let's talk about the #SFGiants non-roster invites to spring training! A lot of people are going to highlight outfielder Bo Davidson and infielder(?) Parks Harber, but there's a lot of names worth touching on here!

turns out, people are good for society
The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

@graze.social Ugh, a particular spam account this morning made me wish for a "remove all posts from all feeds from this user" feature. Like purging what's already processed.

One thing we don't really get on bluesky, since it's out of the mainstream (for now) is the deliciousness of seeing assholes who support evil grapple with the reality that some of their beloved celebs would be ashamed of them. Thinking of comments on GMM Rhett's posts on IG right now.

Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

1/ Another pressure point outside of a general strike is the public and private shunning of anyone who still supports this administration. I made a clear "MAGA not welcome here" policy long ago, and that has included family members. They need to feel societal pressure. They need to be shamed.

Thinking about the kringle angle here
More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”
