Another important story is whether knowledgeable commentators will drop their ties to corporate media that feed off national polarization. This is a sub plot to the point made with which I agree. I’d like to point out that anybody earning $25 million from advertising funded media is suspect.

The fact that these businesses even exist is a disgrace. Why is it that a veteran would need professional help to obtain benefits promised by our government?

yet another plain and simple crime justifying impeachment.

100% agreed.

Thank you, Rep. Peters. I would like to see the details. It should include without limitation mandatory body cams, prohibition of masking, and restatement for the avoidance of doubt of only qualified immunity for actions while on duty.

Really feels like just telling military to draw up plans to invade an ally should be an impeachable offense regardless of party

Thanks for sharing your opinion representative Peters. I’m more interested to know what you’re going to do about it. I urge you to vote NO on any continuing resolution that funds this lawless reckless goon squad.

She is right. Note to Dems with the word "leader" in their title: Leaders lead. She is leading.
AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

Not really a dereliction of duty of mainstream media. It’s more of a revelation of our naivety to trust advertising funded corporate media.

I’m not OK with the state promoting (especially hints that not following the signal will be punished) any unofficial club at public schools. But I think it is short of “mandatory right wing indoctrination.”

Look, I don’t wanna pretend I’m some voice of reason. But I think “betrayal of this nation” is over the top. A lot of people were suffering as a direct result of the shutdown. So I can understand the urge to end it. We don’t know yet what the political consequences of this will be.

Thanks Governor. Please continue and expand California's climate leadership. New rules mean that the world's 4th greatest economic power, the world's most accomplished climate defender, and net giver to USA, gets to assert itself diplomatically.

I don't like this kind of messaging. Feel free to call your Senator and encourage him/her to assume leadership. But don't incite your audience to freak out and demand resignation without a replacement. I gave up on Schumer (and Jeffries and the DNC) long ago. Thanks for your No Kings leadership.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.

Another form of being “centrist” .. have we thought about this one?

The New York Times editorial board thinks Democrats should “move to the center.”

Where the hell is the center between democracy and fascism?

Exactly. Nicely done David that would’ve taken another commentators three paragraphs.

Yesterday's No Kings protests were apparently the largest since the first Earth Day in 1970

The NYT covered that story with a six column headline across the top of the paper and two full pages inside

Today, two small pics below the fold and a story on page A23

They constantly let America down
