Beeber's ad at the bottom of the page says he is a voice that can be trusted - did he pay for the ad or did his employer give him the space for free or at a cut rate? This is the obvious sort of conflict of interest questions that arise.

Speaking of theatres that #OughtToBeHaunted, here’s one that actually is.

The Empress Theatre, in Fort Macleod, Alberta, was built in 1912. I have it on the best authority (@jimmykeelo.bsky.social, no less) that ‘live’ performances aren’t all that happen here….

A small but stately theatre exterior, in dark brick with white accents. Signage above the multiple ground level doors reads “Empress”. protruding vertical bands of brick on either side simulate Classical pilasters.

In August, the Herald stated that they would not publish any candidate 'Letters to the Editor,' which is their prerogative as a private business.

However, letting a employee-candidate continue to write stories AND create this situation is not a good look.
