I have to be honest. With a public health degree and a background in early childhood education, this weekend feels devastatingly grim. I’m not sure how to quantify the severity of these cuts.

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

A 15-year-old autistic, intellectually disabled, and often non-verbal boy in Houston has been held in ICE custody for the past week without his family knowing where he was.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

My baby goes for her 4 month vaccines tomorrow. I HATE when she gets them- hate that she cries, hate that she has any kind of pain. But I’m for damn sure going to make sure she keeps getting them because that short amount of pain means protection from much worse.
