This week's pod just dropped (sorry for the delay)
Thanks again for having me on, I loved it!
Nope. You’d think we were battling relegation and only scoring set piece goals. IMO there’s nothing wrong with being good at set piece goals if that’s the direction of travel in the Prem now, but we are also scoring from open play, such as Pape’s goal on Sunday

Leeds, Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

The only teams in the Premier League with fewer open play goals than Arsenal, who will probably win the title this season.

Doesn't matter in the least how you get there but set pieces are very much the direction of travel in 2025/26.
Just heard on The View from the Lane that Spurs have scored twice as many goals from open play as Arsenal in the Prem and only Liverpool and City have scored more goals from open play than Spurs so far. How interesting!
Could do Palhinha and Danso at CB, then yes fit Sarr and Bergvall (or Gray) in midfield
Newcastle have an incredibly physical midfield, I imagine Frank will want Palhinha at least to match up with them. I think Sarr might start and one of Bergvall or Gray. Kudus needs a rest before Chelsea -- so maybe Johnson gets the nod at RW
Tough one. I feel RKM needs more games to build his fitness and to grow into the side -- at the same time, as you said, we also need to get Tel some minutes as he won't playing in the Champions League games. I like that midfield -- I think Xavi may drop to the bench in favour of Palhinha or Lolo
He is great. Really looks like he's been working on his headers, too, and his aerial ability and that's something you need from your tall defenders in this brave new world of set piece importance ...
Agree, I’m hoping that the kind of nice play through the middle that led to our third goal might pop up a little more but, if indeed the league has changed and the focus for most teams is now on set pieces and physicality, then we might as well be good at them!
Van de Ven has really stepped into the leadership role in the absence of Romero recently. He almost lost his head at Bodo away but scored to get us back in that game and send us on our way to getting an important point. He was fantastic yesterday, both defensively and in scoring two big goals.

This is 100% pure racism, inexcusably so, and no amount of “my phrasing was poor” can ever excuse this bile.

It also caps what was a very bad week for Reform UK - the mask is well and thoroughly slipping.

Private rent in UK now swallows 44% of the average wage.

Monthly cost jumps to record £1,385 outside London, £2,736 in the capital.

Lack of social and affordable housing, no rent controls, as govts appease corporations and the rich.

Profiteering creating poverty/despair, stifling economic growth.

Great point! We had two tough away games and came away from them unbeaten and with a big win up on Merseyside. Confidence boosting ahead of a tricky trip to Newcastle midweek, to say the least of Chelsea’s visit next weekend.

In the Times today there’s an op-ed saying that childless women may have legitimate “private” reasons for declining to give birth. But one reason I have is not private but explicitly political: I want my life to serve as a rebuke to the notion that childbearing is women’s highest or truest calling.

Everyone saying Arsenal are going to win the league this season. Tottenham still have to play them twice. It's in our power to stop the travesty from happening.
I'm going to the Chelsea game and reaaaally hoping we beat them. They don't look particularly strong imo. Sunderland deserved the win yday. I just really want us to put in a big performance at home, especially against them
I do remember having a brilliant record there for a long time! I've been loving your appearances on Game is about Glory and all the Spurs history, gotta bookmark this pod too!
