Still thinking about how lovely @lackingceremony.bsky.social was on Friday @qgcon.bsky.social when I showed up at the presenters dinner feeling super shy and not knowing anyone. Then I got to see her talk on TTRPG "loose, touchable design for leaky, excitable creatures" which was so fucking good!!!

We are so excited to announce our keynote speaker: TreaAndrea Russworm!

TreaAndrea M. Russworm is the Microsoft Endowed Chair and a Professor of Interactive Media and Games in the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. Russworm is the author of Blackness is Burning and co-editor of Gaming Representation and Theorizing Tyler Perry.

She is a Series Editor of the book series Power Play: Games, Politics, Culture (Duke University Press), and she was an inaugural Associate Editor of Outreach and Equity for the Journal
of Cinema and Media Studies.

We are committed to keeping all of our attendees as safe and healthy as possible! Flip through for some basics of our COVID policy, and visit our website for complete details.

What does that mean for you as an attendee?
All conference participants will be required to wear a N95, KN95, equivalent, or better mask at all times while indoors.
We will provide N95/KN95 masks onsite for anyone who is unable to bring their own. In addition, we ask that conference participants wear a mask while travelling to Montreal, if taking public transportation.

We are requiring all attendees to take a COVID antigen test, at most 24 hours old, and to affirm that they had a negative result upon arrival at the venue.We will make additional COVID antigen tests available at the venue.
Please note that COVID antigen tests are most accurate
if taken twice, 48 hours apart. If you are experiencing cold- or flu-like symptoms, please stay home and self-isolate. We are happy to refund ticket sales if you get sick and are unable to attend.
