Governments should demand that companies who receive tax credits must provide "quality employment" for their workers, with protection from cyclical and/or malicious layoffs (echoing @kenzitronic.bsky.social et al).

Renewing trademarks is a fairly routine task for companies. It's less about wanting to continue a brand, and more about stopping other people from adopting any aspect of it.
Nintendo has renewed trademarks for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash. Note that this is not a guarantee that these games are coming back.
