Solidarity with the strike today! Working with mutual aid networks, calling my reps, watching some Andor, and not spending a dime.

Called my reps this AM - all phone lines are busy and all mailboxes are full. Keep it up and send emails and texts when you can't get through.
Tomorrow morning is a great time to call your reps and tell them to abolish ICE. I wrote a script you can use. And no, this is not a joke, it really is that simple.

There have already been 25 data center cancellations or postponements this month, according to @macroedgeres.bsky.social.

That's nearly as many as the previous 6 months combined.

Ya know, there's a certain brand of manosphere rightwing podcast dude who thinks that anything demonstrating kindness or gentleness is inherently weakening, and they'll make themselves look ridiculous trying to distance themselves from it.

I've been watching The West Wing lately and my reactions to each episode can be summed up in 3 types:
1. Nice snappy dialogue and solid character work!
2. Jesus we're still fighting for this in precisely the same words
3. Ah yes, 90s/early 00s Dem politics were also absolute trash

Friends! What are your favorite examples of mixed media creative projects? Think stories told as weirdly as possible: online mixtures of text and audio and photography and art.

I have a similarly dramatic (but less gorgeous) reaction to being suddenly Too Cold
The ginko tree is a living fossil, unchanged in 200 million years. Unlike other deciduous trees, its leaves all drop within one day. We get a night below freezing, and the next morning at dawn the leaves start dropping. The tree goes from full to bare branches very quickly.

May I recommend Qobuz? Lossless audio, some of the highest artist payouts, no ICE ads or investment in military/surveillance tech
Spotify is running recruitment ads for ICE.

A platform built to connect creators and listeners is helping an authoritarian regime build up its secret police force.

But we’re not going to idly accept that. We’re going to make Spotify listen: indivisible.org/cancel-spoti... #CancelSpotify
