I’m sure Mr Witkoff would have found Comrade Stalin very charming
Tucker Carlson: What do you think of Putin?

Witkoff: I liked him. I thought he was straight up with me…I don't regard Putin as a bad guy.

I learned today Welsh wrestler Adrian Street aka Exotic beat the ever living stuffing out of Jimmy Savile one time and later said “Had I known then what I know about him now, I’d have given him an even bigger hiding.” I guess some heroes do wear capes

Where are these AI gains? They don’t seem to exist
WARN filings expose 4.7k of Amazon's 14k cuts last month. 500 PMs were laid off while engineers (1,800 laid off) were hit hardest, mostly SDE IIs which refutes the "management bloat" narrative.

The trend is clear: Big Tech continues to purge junior roles due to "AI efficiency gains."
Amazon cut more than 1,800 engineers in record layoffs, despite saying it needs to innovate faster
Nearly 40% of the roughly 4,700 positions Amazon eliminated across Washington, New York, New Jersey and California were engineering jobs.

Burnt out analysts in DC got funded to figure out why things were going bad then they got worse. Trying to actually start a career while the industry I’m in is burning down.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

I have two thoughts on the Nuzzi thing. Solzhenitsyn is much more coherent and interesting, and at least Soviet intelligentsia had the excuse of alcoholism and insanity

The whole thing is why my tone discussing the importance of medical ethics to students is best described as shrill and urgent. To many medical professionals neglect the central hippocratic tenet “first do no harm”
Free birth is eugenic *and* it exists not because birthing people want their babies to die, but because there are so many horror stories floating around about doctors disrespecting birthing people in what is one of the most vulnerable states any human can experience.

Just one point. Nothing more to discuss.

@jfloyd314.bsky.social hi chap terribly sorry to bug you but I had a question. What is the Mormon church’s perspective on stain glass. Is it part of your design aesthetic or are there doctrinal objections.

Discussing Yeltsin with a colleague we both agreed Yeltsin was a fighter. Trump tends to fold as soon as anyone pushes back
Trump in a room with a very charismatic person results in like half a day of Trump agreeing with everything that person said, so this has the potential to be very, very funny.

Oh my oh my 🤣
The facts are complicated, but here’s a summary of what appears to have happened based on the filings and today’s hearing:
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

Immigration is the only thing keeping this country afloat www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
UK net migration 20% lower in 2024 than first thought, ONS says
The main reason for the change is that more UK nationals are thought to have emigrated in 2024 than initially recorded.
