Well, from the start, the creators of the Ms. Marvel series did say that Iman Vellani WAS Kamala Khan, an even as someone who didn't read that many Ms. Marvel comics, she perfectly embodies the character!
Brie Larson says Iman Vellani plays herself in the #MCU:

“It’s not just that she knows Ms. Marvel, it’s that she knows everything, and so, she really is that character in that way. She’s so good and she’s such a talented actress”

Timing wise, I presume it means he will be working on The Simpsons Movie 2 in a major role. But who knows. He has put in many years with the show, so maybe he's deciding to step back and occasionally write or even showrun one-offs in the future 🤔

Al Jean is stepping down from his role as Simpsons showrunner. End of an era (at least for now)

Yeah exactly, but at least in TLJ when the orchestra crescendos and stops it fades out naturally, and there's still at least SOME ambient noise during the silence if you listen closely. ParaNorman abruptly stops having ANY sound for like 20 seconds 😂

Surprising to see a Predator movie with a 12A rating, but if there's no human characters, well... you can get away with a lot. www.bbfc.co.uk/release/pred...

At the risk of being labeled a "shitlib" or a "genocide enabler" I'm not sure Kamala Harris would've shut down the government long enough to let SNAP benefits run out, thus potentially condemning millions of Americans to starvation, JUST so she could also take away those same people's health care.

This is correct.

His cult keeps saying “well, he was elected president, he doesn’t have to follow the rules now” but the correct attitude is “well, he was elected president, and therefore he has to follow the rules.”

He even swore an oath to do that. Honest!
He was elected president, and as president, his highest duty is to ensure that the laws of the land be executed faithfully. His job is to uphold the constitutional order, not tear it down and remake it in his image.

Also, the interviewer is that journalistic troll Alex Thompson, who has always had a weird misogynistic obsession with Kamala Harris and who co-wrote that bs book with Jake Tapper.

Of course Bernie is going to sit down with reporters who hate Democrats as much as he does.

AOC: There was a day before his presidency, and there will be a day after — and it belongs to us.
I watched it at home first, and the subtitles on Prime Video said "leaves rustling", but there's literally no sound whatsoever! So I thought there was an audio glitch with the VOD until I waited about 20 seconds for dialogue
In ParaNorman, during the part towards the end where the sound cuts out completely, I think they should've included some gentle, atmospheric tree sounds so people won't think the movie's broken 😅

One reason you don’t wanna fall in love with one guy from Maine because he says “corporate power” on his website is that you are handing Republicans a bipartisan excuse for having Nazi associations.

“I was only 35 and didn’t know what the ‘14 words’ meant.”

support whomever you’d like, but what is frustratingly dishonest about this take is that actual issue — the thing critics have identified as the problem — isn’t the decision of the 21-year old to get the tattoo, but of the judgment of the 40-year old who still has it.
I think political writers actually should have an opinion about a guy in his 40s having a Nazi tattoo. The decision to keep it on their body may tell us more than their website.

I think this is absolutely right. Also, so many of these guys do actually understand that 'a mixed-race family in an advert' is there to sell people things. They absolutely cannot stand that some minorities are successful. It is resentment all the way down.
Think one of the key things why adverts are such a thing with them is that people in ads are usually enjoying themselves and having a nice life; seeing non-white people be happy is something that drives your typical racist absolutely mad
Something I can't get over with the Sarah Pochin comments is that it's not just racist, it's also pathetic? Like oh wittle Sarah doesn't like the wittle adverts is it? Get a grip, you're a grown woman and member of parliament, stop being a snowflake and find a real problem to deal with

Maher is more self-revelatory than he means to be here, bc I feel like an underrecognized aspect of Mamdani's appeal as a "culture figure" in the moment IS as a "back-to-normal" force: Specifically, he reminds people of Obama and Obama-era politics (you will all please note I did not say "policy")
