One of the worst things about the permanent damage Trump has done to US politics is that it's now assumed that he represents the default way to wield power. Biden was hands off with the DoJ. DoJ probably got a tip and investigated it, as they should. Insufficient evidence was found, so it ended.

Again, the thing about all of this is that there are exactly <zero> legislative fixes for any of this. Our terrible, deeply broken, horribly designed presidential system was a grave mistake, but the Founders were very clear that there was a mechanism that was supposed to be used in these cases:

Quite literally, there are about a dozen scandals under Trump II that are worse than the worst scandals in all of 🇺🇸 political history. Add in the ongoing familial/personal monetization of the presidency, the violation of our UN & NATO treaty obligations with 🇨🇦 & 🇬🇱/🇩🇰, & the murder on the high seas.
Of the biggest scandals in US history just this week, I think I’d rank them:
1) Federal paramilitaries invade US city based on racist lies, murder US citizens
2) Slush fund for the president from stolen foreign resources held in Qatar
3) Whatever FBI and DNI are doing re: 2020 election in Georgia

Also not grasping that when Republicans are in the minority, particularly in the Senate, the things they DO are things we would not do because they’re severely damaging to the institution, good governance, or morality. We don’t want to be those guys who just smash things.
