I'm in earshot of some security folks--in this part of the country you can't not be--who were already chatting about something "fishy" about the shooter and I assume this is what got their eyes rolling.
So not only was the DC shooter granted asylum by this administration, but he also has ties to the CIA and was even in possession of a CIA-issued ID. This administration gives one no choice but to entertain conspiracy theories.

This is a good discussion. We should also be clear that conservatism in this country as a movement has actively undermined higher education for decades. They’ve devalued both the content, and the credential—especially when held by people they don’t like.
I think in part the higher education funding crisis and the LLM-teaching crisis actually strike at the same problem, which is that education doesn't work without a broad, society-wide sense that the *actual content* of education - not the credential - is valuable.
