Was talking with my thankfully woke boomer mom and aunt today about this (on a passenger train no less!) My aunt praised Bill Gates and I used Carnegie as an example - sure they’re sharing their wealth but paying high taxes on their rigged wealth would improve the public good more efficiently.

for the longest time on twitter my bio was “the real racist” as a joke about this dynamic.
And that’s part of the problem a lot of people assume Black thinkers are simply acting out of revenge and hatred against white people rather than examining and exploring the dynamics within their communities and larger context.

I live in the LHV (ie rural NJ but) and it's rampant. We have 4 trees and 2 poles where the drunks crash and a state trooper card I call when I see the SUV/small car crash (because the patrol time out of the cities is"good luck buddy!". It is an issue in rural areas
I have a bunch of intersecting thoughts here but basically 1) excessive alcohol consumption is an urban activity, 2) we shouldn’t legalize drunk driving and 3) we should more heavily penalize parents whose kids abuse alcohol in such a drastic fashion.

Dishwashers are just objectively superior technology: convenient, efficient, unobtrusive. They’re a legitimate marvel of modernity.
People who want to get morally superior about how they hand-wash everything really gotta reckon with the fact that machine dish-washing uses considerably LESS water and emits considerably fewer greenhouse emissions than standard handwashing practices do.
