Again, it is a full-blown federal felony crime for anyone in the White House or Executive Office of the President to order tax investigations into anyone.

And it's not just a crime to DO it, it's even a federal crime for an employee not to REPORT such an order to the Treasury Inspector General.

(a)Prohibition
It shall be unlawful for any applicable person to request, directly or indirectly, any officer or employee of the Internal Revenue Service to conduct or terminate an audit or other investigation of any particular taxpayer with respect to the tax liability of such taxpayer.

(b)Reporting requirement
Any officer or employee of the Internal Revenue Service receiving any request prohibited by subsection (a) shall report the receipt of such request to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.

(c)Exceptions
Subsection (a) shall not apply to any written request made—
(1)to an applicable person by or on behalf of the taxpayer and forwarded by such applicable person to the Internal Revenue Service;
(2)by an applicable person for disclosure of return or return information under section 6103 if such request is made in accordance with the requirements of such section; or
(3)by the Secretary of the Treasury as a consequence of the implementation of a change in tax policy.
(d)Penalty
Any person who willfully violates subsection (a) or fails to report under subsection (b) shall be punished upon conviction by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.

(e)Applicable person
For purposes of this section, the term “applicable person” means—
(1)the President, the Vice President, any employee of the executive office of the President, and any employee of the executive office of the Vice President; and
(2)any individual (other than the Attorney General of the United States) serving in a position specified in section 5312 of title 5, United States Code.

I'm not going to have claim to have seen a ton of Keegan Murray. If he starts to play like he did during his rookie year, then fine. But I don't understand that money for the guy from last year. Middling 3% on a lot of 3s, rates as a negative on both ends. Long but not a particularly good defense

This is why the defeat of Nazi Germany was such a huge reckoning for Germans. It wasn't just the defeat at force at arms, it was the world forced them to confront all the public evidence that they were led by historically evil men.

I know people who declared, in front of a table of people having dinner, that Trump didn't call Mexicans criminals and rapists during his escalator speech when he decided to run for office in 2016.

It's kayfabe. You're either in on it, or you're not. Facts don't exist. So they admit to nothing.

The schtick of American conservatism at an interpersonal level is that everyone in the movement resolutely refuses to acknowledge the clear racialist statements/policies of its leaders.

No matter how many of these neo-Confederate moments we get in public, Republicans will never acknowledge them.

IU previously directed the Indiana Daily Student to stop printing news coverage in our newspaper. Upon pushback, the university fully cut print, including our special editions. The IDS was not involved in the decision.

Media School Dean David Tolchinsky sent the order to IDS leadership in an email responding to its appeal that the school not censor the newspaper. And the dean attributed the decision to “the campus.” He has not yet responded to a message for clarification.

Trump did not broker an end to the conflict. There's no peace agreement and the main causes of the conflict dating to 1948 - Israeli claims on Palestinian land and ethnic cleansing of occupied territory - remain in full force.

It's a border dispute. And Israel doesn't recognize Palestine's borders.

This is no more lawful than if Iran / North Korea / whoever blew up a couple American yachts in the Mediterranean for suspected drug trafficking. On the legal spectrum it sits in the middle of a Venn diagram between overt acts of military aggression, state-sponsored terrorism, and simple murder.
