"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit:

There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

There is nothing more or else to it, and there never has been, in any place or time."

Using this to remind men that its healthy to be vulnerable and to ask for help.

Shoutout to my grandpa who taught me the joys that come with aiding others in need.

ooooh, I think this is a thing. Disabled people have fought for accessibility & as that gained some cultural traction (NOT ENOUGH, I know!), the word got weaponized. Housing gets built as "accessible"/"attainable," not affordable because "affordable" has a specific definition about how much it costs
"democratize access to" strikes again

CDC flu data is back! I’m so happy I could cry. H3N2 is predominating, especially the new subclade K. This supports the emerging hypothesis that we will have a big flu season. More to come.

You laugh, but down here at the electron factory it's no joke. We're on mandatory overtime, working in shifts around the clock, trying to keep up with Sam's electron demand so he can run the Plagiarism and Bullshit Machine!
#TheftTech
I laughed at loud. These people are so pathetic; our enemies are numbskulls. They will kill us all and still not know hs physics.

COWEN: The stupidest question possible: Why don’t we just make more GPUs?

ALTMAN: Because we need to make more electrons.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

I've been following practically every move Amazon's Ring has been making at a microscopic level for 7 years now--so forgive me that I wrote a thread about the returning CEO's interview with the Verge from yesterday. 🧵
This interview w/ Ring's pro-police surveillance CEO is deceptive in a number of ways.

He seems to suggest police can *only* get footage if you agree to share it, but makes no mention of what happens if police present a warrant straight to Ring.

tbh whenever I hear MBS it's in my head as Mohammed bon Sawman now.
Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, heir to the throne of Saudi Arabia and current de-facto ruler of that kingdom, whose word is law and power is unquestioned, is visibly like “whoah dude, dial down the authoritarian thing a bit”
Q: Why wait for Congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?

TRUMP: It's not the question that I mind. It's your attitude. I think you're a terrible reporter. It's the way you ask these questions. You start off with a man who's highly respected asking him an insubordinate question
