Florida's attorney general, who spends his time targeting companies for stuff like “radical LGBTQ+ activism,” is getting paid $100K a year as a Univ of Fla adjunct to teach a 2 hour/week law class.

His salary is 8X higher than what the median adjunct earns.

In other words, they are only interested in dividing the spoils of Putin's invasion with Russia.
Well said. The problem is that the leaders of the US government and the people around them are more interested in their ability to profit from the resources of Ukraine and business deals in Russia than a lasting peace for Ukraine and Europe.

There is a very old history, following horrific accidents, that gives the FAA control of all civil airspace.

That persons at the Pentagon & any CBP don’t understand that is the issue here.

This is the FAA’s power & responsibility & I wish the agency was loudly reminding everyone of that.
The Pentagon has long been developing anti-drone weapons meant for use in war zones where they can control air traffic. But the DoD hasn’t yet figured out how to safely deploy them within crowded civilian skies. That didn’t stop them loaning some out to CBP to shoot off over Texas.

Their resilience - and their determination - helped enforce the Constitution in a way that political elites in Congress and the courts did not or could not.

I really hope aviation publications go deep on this because Bedford’s decision to abruptly do this, the 10 day length, to not talk to anyone in El Paso gov, etc., must be analyzed. If he felt he had no choice then holy hell - we need to be talking about US military threats to civilian airspace.
So the DOD started laser testing because they believed party balloons were drones, shut down all of El Paso airspace, and blamed it on Mexican cartels?
