If you roadtrip a Mach-E, does it do charge planning? As in, it figures out where to stop and charge, how much to charge to get to the next charger, etc? Does it work well?

Same question for Hyundai/KIA EVs too, I guess.

Sell passenger car size versions of this and bring back coachbuilding.
I mean, not having any seems like a red flag 😅

So I’m at a Stop sign, wanting to turn left, and I have to wait for one of those citrus green 1st Gen Honda Insights to drive past.

“That’s rare,” I say to my passenger.

As it passes, another car rounds the bend: A tiny JDM Daihatsu van.

“That too.”

I turn left behind the van.

This week’s rental car wheel of fortune landed on Chrysler Pacifica. Every time I drive one of these things I’m surprised by how quick it is, like a charging hippo.

I've been stewing about something for the last few weeks. This might come out as a half formed thought but I need to say it out loud. In 2006, I was in Iraq. Kirkuk. It was a chaotic time and kirkuk in particular was complicated. 1/x

I watched the Straight Pipes guys, who I normally like, drive a late-90s Honda Prelude and generally freak out about how exotically weird what, to me, is a perfectly normal car. Anyway, I’m quietly going crazy at yet more car social media people advocating for removing an airbag, which they did.

1. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to visit the Alfa Romeo museum in Milan. What a gorgeous museum of design.

Over the next few days I'll be posting a thread of pictures from my visit.

Here's a teaser.

You find me once again at an airport. Hot take: The giant vat of oatmeal remains undefeated at the breakfast buffet. Yummy, filling, and very difficult to mess up. Sure, get some protein to go with it, but those low GI carbs are going to keep you going until your next meal.

During the Great Depression, the WPA hired 274 librarians, mostly local women, to carry books from local libraries to rural Appalachian residents, riding 100-120 miles a week, across rugged terrain.

They also prepared special collection scrapbooks with recipes, canning techniques, how-to guides.

Volunteer information should be available on your county’s office of elections’ website. Primaries are coming up pretty soon. Even with increased voting by mail, recent elections have had a lot of in person participation. They will need lots of help.

Election worker training in California is about 2-3 hours, almost all online. They started including de-escalation tactics a few elections ago. It’s a long day, but it’s rewarding. California even gives you a little stipend.

I've had a few people reply or message me that they're worried that mid-term elections won't happen, or will be corrupt, or something along those lines. First, don't give up your morale for free. Second, if you're really worried, take positive action instead of despairing.
Mid-term elections are going to be a hell of a thing.

Anyone surprised that the 2nd amendment doesn’t apply to anyone but white conservatives should take a look at when the NRA and conservatives generally were huge gun control advocates because racial minorities started arming themselves. www.history.com/articles/bla...

When you're next furious that MN kids are going hungry, well, there's a fund for that; & when you're livid that brave observers may struggle with rent, there's one for that; & when you're heartbroken about pets being left behind when their owners are kidnapped, well, there's a fund for that, too.
go to standwithminnesota.com and pick someone on there and give them $5.

tomorrow go back and give someone else $5.

do it every day for a week and you will have made life immediately & materially better for 7 different people, at the cost of $35, and you will feel so much better than you do now.
