Like my goal is to find peers, and you can have success doing that, but only in a transient way. You start losing frame of reference of where you stand in the world if you don't have a group in common, and that gets distorted by what's most visible which is most often people you can't measure up to

Even with an idealized team running things here I lack faith in Bluesky in the same way I lack faith in all contemporary social media in how the universalized format has destroyed the capacity for tight knit communities. You're adrift in the damn ocean everywhere you go

I do a 50/50 blend of whole wheat and bread flour and bake it in a Dutch oven sourdough style. I'd make an actual sourdough loaf but I just cannot plan 7 days ahead like that lol

There's gonna have to be an ultimatum where participating in the larger conversation means having actual skin in the game. And the thing is they don't even really feel guilty because they're choosing to act it out instead of actually backing out and retreating to somewhere quiet.

Having a small dog is very much preferable in situations like this. Large dogs struggle due to a higher weight proportion that demands more from their limbs which can often spell a bad prognosis

Which, holy shit, extends into discussions on gear too. People just love fixating on some specific software/hardware as being some secret ingredient to achieving what they want. The brush pack/amplifier/pen/pedal are not gonna close the gap of your understanding

Honestly it perfectly parallels the way guitarists talk about "tone". Like man if you do not understand the fundamentals you are shooting in the dark. There's nothing metaphysical about it, you have to understand the fundamentals and basic math of what makes what to really have that control

I get the concern people have in the social media age with asserting themselves with a distinct art style but with how much it gets brought up it comes across as misplaced priorities. If you're insecure about style you really need to consider doing way more studies of work you want to emulate.
