I dunno guys I love games and all the work that go into creating them should be celebrated, but I feel like the scale and cost of TGA/SGF is a larger, louder deathrattle of the industry’s problems with scope and scale, like a blood-bloated tick far too large to sustain itself but who must yet feast

Kotaku has been chatting with its sources regarding The Game Awards, which kicks off tomorrow, and have discovered that it isn't cheap to showcase your company's game at the annual event. Sources informed the online publication that a 60 second trailer would cost you up to $450,000, and that a tasty three minute trailer could cost you over one million dollars for the privilege.

'tis fierce windy

They have turned to look at another similarly silhouetted figure, who is non-chalantly flying through the sky, in an upright position. The latter says "Ah, how're yeah, Michael? Jaysus, but isn't it fierce windy?" The character on the ground replies with an equally casual "Ah, sure, bloody typical, you know herself." Totally agree. I think the most successful artists I know are usually those who can create even after multiple failures, able to hone in to what they're best at, and never quit trying to get better at their craft.

Most of us understand that drawing isn't a matter of inherent talent, but aquired skill. I also think a lot about how your success in learning to draw might have to do with how well you handle frustration, and how comfortable you are with making mistakes. The barrier i usually see--

NORTHERN LIGHTS (2005)

It’s during the dark times of the year when lights seem most magical…and sought after. I’ve always loved colored lights, especially during winter when things can seem dreary and monochromatic. 1/3
A tiny gazebo with a round dome is set in a wintry scene of snow covered evergreens. Standing among candles there, a wizard gestures and four doves flutter into a sky lit by aurora. The "Northern Lights" are wandering ribbons rising like curtains of light against rich blue of the night sky. The gazebo is decorated for the holidays with a garland and wreath. From a beaded chain strung from the roof, symbols include a bell, a 6-pointed star, a moon, and a heart. Casting light on himself, the wizard holds a lantern in his offhand. His long white beard trails down his chest. He wears a red cap and cream colored robes with fringed bell sleeves. Below the gazebo, a path winds up from the foreground to the gazebo.
