How I keep up with AI, and why you honestly shouldn’t - SQLGene Training
In 2016, I thought I knew how to keep up with technology. In 2026, I’m less sure. AI feels a bit like fast fashion. Oh you are wearing cerulean? Pfft. Everyone knows that chartreuse is in now. How emb...

This is a political podcast but I think it's fairly unpolitical that we need less big tech, more competition, and better consumer protections.

Just read this from @hazelweakly.me. Now, I can't wait to read the rest of Hazel's writing. If you're into #designsystems give it a look...and I'm guessing this line will resonate: "people who become known for seeing systems often become in charge of them."

GenAI tooling is weird. It’s “just” an intervention. Because it’s a tool. Any tool introduction is an intervention. Which means they work the same way any intervention work:

1. Understand the preconditions and culture norms required for success
2. Set people up for success
3. Respond to feedback
How do people feel about the usage of GenAI tools being mandated at work?

A Diary of a Data Engineer
You ingest data. You model it. You transform it. You serve it. Someone asks for a change. Everything breaks. You rebuild. This is the loop. It was the loop in 2005 with SSIS and star schemas. It’s the...
