I think BlueSky is finally moving in towards what Twitter was at its peak. Interesting content & debate without forgetting the funny comments that make everything somewhat bearable. All of that without an algorithm to sink you into doomscrolling. Please @bsky.app don't force algorithmic feeds on us!

That somehow someone at the UN is able to make and post and AI generated video including a false testimony from a rape and war without anyone realizing how wrong that is until The Guardian approached for comment. just shows how acritically people are adopting AI as a tool. It's devastating.
AI-generated images of extreme poverty, children and sexual violence survivors are flooding stock photo sites and increasingly being used by leading health NGOs, according to global health professionals who have voiced concern over a new era of “poverty porn”.

Exclusive: Pictures depicting the most vulnerable and poorest people are being used in social media campaigns in the sector, driven by concerns over consent and cost

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Best metaphor I've heard is that using AI is like bringing a forklift to lift the weights at the gym. The point is to build YOUR muscles, not to make the weights go up and down.
I love to see stuff like this because it helps explain to people trapped in tech-sponsored information bubbles the actually obvious fact that universities teach people to know & think things, and AI is a way to produce the effect of knowing & thinking things w/o actually knowing & thinking them.

This IS a great metaphor! #AI is akin to outsourcing your brain to a 5-year-old on acid. It doesn't know a lot, and what it does know comes out like gibberish.

Another reason to add to the list of why proton is a good alternative right now to US-based tech companies for e-mail, calendar, etc

- They do not harvest your data
- Its paid tier is affordable and worth the money
- It's not under US influence
- Some of your money will be used for worthy causes

He visto llamar a la IA gen "amianto digital".
