Some news: over a year ago, I started building out a model to weigh NBA careers with the hope of removing a lot of bias that comes with analysis. (My own specifically!) I eventually weighted 23 factors to try and assess the greatest players of all-time in a calculated order.

Added note:
I don’t think Aaron-Taylor Johnson’s Jamie was the villain a lot of reviews presented him as.

Some interesting questions from his performance.

Can you be a great dad whilst being a terrible husband?

Taking an interest in the interests of the kids who might be most inclined to push boundaries remains an excellent classroom management tool. Pretend to slip-up and say 6-7. Watch some anime. Download an app or game they play so you know what they are talking about. Watch your relationships grow.

Being on strike is very surreal. Guilt. Hope. Despair. Convoluted cocktail.

Spotify Qs if someone out there knows lol.

1) Can I give it permission to keep playing over top of other apps? I hate when I open an app and it cuts the music.

2) Can I block an artist so they don’t appear in general genre or artist mixes I generate?

Before prime day, the item you wanted was $23.99. On prime day it’s still $23.99 but they pretend it’s 30% off a fake yesterday price.

On a more general and solemn note. I suppose I wonder at what age does society impugn ideas of community wealth and shared well-being being less worthy or fulfilling than an excess of self-wants and desires being nourished?

Ages 6-12, you sit a group of kids down, you give them a problem, and they will come to a compromise. If you tell them one party doesn’t get anything or is left out or has been mistreated, they will instantly try to correct. We got adults out here whose soul goal is to take at the expense of others.

My toddler has yeeted his favourite sippy cup somewhere in the house and for the life of me, I cannot find it. This is how man goes truly mad.

Imagine living in such a stupor you thought the masses should pipe down about fascism until they were afraid to be disappeared for tweeting. Like, sincerely, you don't see the logic in talking about the reality before it hits that boiling point?
radiofreetom.bsky.social
If we were living under fascism, none of you would be here daring to post things. You'd be erasing your social media accounts and keeping your head down; you'd know that peacocking your faux-bravery on a network would expose you to being disappeared.
You have no idea what "fascism" really means.
mouthfulofcavities.bsky.social
the regime is zip tying toddlers and ripping them away from their mothers unclothed... calling it fascism upsets this neo-con.

Every year, every class, we talk about how history is in place and shared to avoid mistakes of the past. To sound alarms when humanity is going the wrong way. People got AirPods in, sound machines on. Alarms aren't being heard.

“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”

"What if like we could pick where taxes go? Like I want all my money to go to hospitals and schools only and no other stupid stuff and like then yea you have to pay taxes but you maybe aren't so mad about it." - A student in their issues reflection this week.

An interesting thought

Bluesky is like a 24/7 think tank on different ways humans can find insult in any and all things.

Anti-progress bigots? My good lord, some of you need to interact with actual humans more.

in much of 20th century science fiction, anti-ai/anti-progress bigots are depicted variously as religious fanatics, right wing social conservatives, and so on. it has turned out quite differently.

Amongst the many things that just seem unfathomable when you zoom in on them… We just sit here and allow government to take tax $ and hand them back to the elite/private sector at insane rates. Generally at the expense short and longterm of the other 95%?

The many hats you wear as a teacher is an undersold part of this job. You as a fellow citizen may not be asking for teachers to fill so many roles but I think it’s lost that in every class there’s a kid looking for a parent, a friend, a counsellor, a coach, a tutor, a role model, on top of a teacher

Kids living through COVID, new curriculum implemented without proper consultation, funding, or resources, and now a strike. Feel for this generation.
