Rode the new E Marginal Way S bike lane today. Smooth, protected, and part of the growing dream of riding all the way around Elliott Bay on safe bike infrastructure from Alki to Magnolia.

Thx @bestsidecycling.com,
@qagggy.bsky.social, @gordonofseattle.bsky.social & Don for a fun afternoon ride.

It has been 12 years since Lance David died biking to work here. I'll be thinking about him when I ride this safer route later today.

His tragic death spurred local West Seattle advocates to demand change, and to his credit Mayor Mike McGinn started this project — 3 mayors later it's finally done.

It’s open and it’s awesome! 🍾

Got to check it out on opening day with Don from West Seattle Bike Connections who is one of the original advocates for this project, @bestsidecycling.com, @qagggy.bsky.social , and @joshholland.bsky.social . Go see for yourself!

A lawsuit was always the plan for the anti-LGBTQ+ protesters at Cal Anderson. 😮‍💨

We need to make smarter moves against actions like this in the city. More likely coming in the near future.

Here's hoping Seattle wins the lawsuit.

Organizers of chaotic spring anti-LGBTQ+ Christian rally sue Seattle
The event devolved into chaos, leading to multiple arrests of people opposed to the group’s presence in a park in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Struggling with the idea that “protecting your peace” means shrinking your circle and shutting out new connections. Peace shouldn’t come at the cost of growth.

One of the best lessons I’ve learned: you can’t make everyone happy.

Gather input, make a decision, and move on.

Don’t spin your wheels endlessly and go nowhere.

If the R Line opens in 2032, it will have taken Seattle 17 years and two entire transportation levies to convert its second busiest bus line into a bus rapid transit corridor.

Something I missed in the county budget book at first glance: the timeline for opening the RapidRide R line (current Route 7) is now being stated as 2032.
This project is updating the 2020 10% design to reflect current conditions in
the corridor and changes implemented by SDOT between 2020 and 2024
while the R Line project was paused. These updates are informing
necessary scope adjustments that reflect budget realities as well as
overlaps with recently completed or planned SDOT investments. Examples
of scope adjustments include revisiting planned roadway reconfigurations,
station locations, and signal upgrades in areas where SDOT has already
implemented improvements.
Metro anticipates completing an updated 10% design milestone in 2025,
with the project targeting a 2032 launch. Coordination with SDOT will
continue to ensure both agencies’ investments are aligned where possible

Just wrapped a video project with CityNerd on Pike Place Market — Seattle’s beating heart and one of the best pedestrian exps in the world.
🌍✨

As a longtime urbanist and foodie, this was a dream collab: cities evolving beyond cars, and a market that feeds both people and culture. 🍎🍞

💔 As a former UW Pagliacci student staffer, this one hits hard. But I get it—students today are prioritizing affordability over brand names.

That’s the reality of trying to make it in Seattle right now.

People say “Seattle has no culture.”

As a Seattle area local, I wonder: where have you been? Festivals, art, concerts, quirky pop-ups—it’s here if you look.

This weekend’s Art Marathon turned Downtown into a gallery.

Culture isn’t always somewhere far away—sometimes it’s in your backyard. 🌲🎨

10+ years of advocacy paid off! 🚲🎉

Beacon Hill now has new protected bike lanes linking downtown to the South End — a huge win for safer streets, community persistence, and better connections.

Big thanks to SDOT + all the neighbors who made this happen.

Missed this late August update: Seattle now has its own Indian Consulate, right in the heart of downtown.

A big step for connections between Seattle and India.

This morning @councilmember-amr.bsky.social called for the council's transportation committee to pursue some type of formal inquiry into the decision to rule out additional bus lanes on Denny Way's most congested blocks to get the Route 8 out of traffic.

One of life’s biggest lessons is learning to be a gracious loser. Like Ash on his Pokémon journey: savor the moments, celebrate the small wins, learn from mistakes, and keep pushing to be your very best.

Keep building your team of skills + entering every tourney. One day you’ll get the big W.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
