Working in games means your answer to the question "If you could do anything you wanted in life, what would it be?" isn't a different career, but the same career in a kinder version of the same industry.

If they can sift through the digital asbestos to see it, I wonder how historians will describe this era.

Ah, shit. We need OpenCL to step the fuck up. Looks like CUDA's about to get some Martha Stewart bracelets.
In the memo, “Nvidia also responds to claims that the ‘current situation is analogous to historical accounting frauds (Enron, WorldCom, Lucent) that featured vendor financing and SPVs [special purpose vehicles.)’”

Been a thousand years but I still wish they hadn't gone [damn near slapstick] comedy -first with The Lone Gunmen. Those guys bring the funny, didn't need goofy music stings every 5 min.

Also, a potential The Lone Gunmen / FreakyLinks crossover would have wrecked my little world (in a good way).

I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
AirBnB CEO calling it “vibe revenue” just 👨‍🍳 😘

The underlying cause of every bubble - debt masquerading as financial innovation - depends on not just short financial memory & speculative neophytism, but reinventing jargon of finance, like how each generation of kids has new ways to say same things.

we are shooting this goddamn industry in the foot by having incredibly volatile development times and always rotating workforces. we're bleeding knowledge, making the same mistakes over and over and never evolving

I will be lost for a year.

Sometimes a song does *exactly* what you expect, but it's good.

(Yes, I'm watching more Summoning Salt. But to my credit, I listened to this track BEFORE hearing it in a video. So there.)

If we have a kid we are absolutely forbidding Roblox. I know I will inevitably cave on a number of other stupid things all their little friends are doing, but this is a hard line in the sand that no amount of screaming will change.

Gmail has tied inbox categories into "Smart Features" which encompasses the LLM bs? So you can't have tabs if you turn off AI.

Yeah. More business people responsible for all this should take the quickest elevatorless way to the ground floor.

Dispatch's success is well-deserved. Speaking personally, I'm happy that there's still a market and an appetite for Telltale-style games.

Hopefully this means that Season 2 will get greenlit! www.ign.com/articles/dis...
