I think stepping away from streaming was one of the best things I did bc I spent my 20's trying to squeeze myself into a consumable internet box while struggling behind closed doors and now I can freely be complicated and loud and maybe make things again w/o being sad when numbers don't go brrrr.

Think it's also time to start acknowledging that there's a bunch of people who don't actually play the games, and their whole engagement with the medium is doing culture war bullshit with games they haven't played as a pretext

I hate the "don't feed the trolls" approach. I can tell you from experience it doesn't work. As a woman in games, I've faced my share of harassment. Every time, I've been told by male peers to "ignore them". It's never worked.
