Crowd booing the Dodgers as they’re introduced, but clearly don’t know what to do about Freeman. More cheers than boos. No doubt about Teo, though. Cheers all around.
I’m so friggin’ nervous. C’mon, boys!! I believe. #WANTITALL
I haven't been home in months. I fly home on Tuesday, land at 7:00 pm, and I'm heading directly to SkyDome for the watch party.
Trump's reaction isn't Doug Ford's fault. But we can fairly accuse Ford of putting a very rickety trade relationship at greater risk so he can shore up his polling. Without the threat of Trump, Doug would be in serious trouble, even without a viable opposition.
Doug Ford spent $75 million on an ad that would have, at most, caused a small ripple among moderate Republican lawmakers, but instead irritated the notoriously sensitive President. So why did Doug do it? Because his popularity is entirely dependent on his "Captain Canada" schtick.
A province in the grips of a housing crisis doesn’t rig the game in favour of landlords. Unless the province is Ontario, in which case there are developers to appease and Ride ‘Em, Cowboy!!
In particular, they want leases to no longer necessarily remain in effect indefinitely, so that landlords have more options for creating tenant turnover.

Current situation in left-hand column, proposal on the right:
Unfortunately, Ontario's opposition parties waited until it was too late to weigh in on the secondary ticket market and the Conservative repeal of price caps on resales. Worse still, they think simply returning to a price control is the solution. Ontario should lead the charge and ban reselling.
Legalizing a black market should benefit and protect consumers. Buying from StubHub is more convenient than handing cash to a guy yelling "TICKETS!", but it's also enabled significant price inflation. That hardly seems like a system worth defending.
There shouldn't be a legal secondary ticket market. StubHub, SeatGeek and the like should be banned. Oh ho! Then the market will go underground! Yep. Its ability to work at scale will be constrained, and it'll return to primary sellers to compete on price and value.
The formal secondary ticket market is a scam. It's essentially supply management, which I'm assured is anathema to the same people expressing their opposition to ticket price controls. Maybe it's OK because it's a business practice, not government policy.
Sellers on the secondary market can also charge whatever they want. That, too, is relative to what the market will bear. It's exclusionary, and I hate it, but capping those prices is lipstick on a pig. "Scamming is OK if you don't make too much money." No, thanks.
🧵 There are two arguments about ticket prices (Jays or others) that are being mixed to form a third, flawed point. The Jays can charge whatever the market will bear for tickets. That's the world we live in, but it's distinct from the ticket seller operating a secondary market.
Ticket reselling should be illegal. ILLEGAL. Ticketmaster has built a scam into the ticketing paradigm, and all lawmakers do is shrug their shoulders, mutter "free market", and slink back into a hedge.
I did not get Jays tickets. And I'm not paying $4000 for 500s.
I did it last summer and it’s definitely a quick jaunt.
I didn’t say it was fine, I said the East Wing isn’t in any way comparable to the destruction of Penn Station. Symbolically…maybe. Architecturally, never.
The White House is iconic, of course. Does that also apply to the part tucked out of view behind the trees? I'm not convinced.
To be clear, the part I didn't expect was to burst into tears. I absolutely expected the Jays to win, just as I expect them to beat LA.
I'M BALLING MY EYES OUT. I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT. GO JAYS GO!!! #WANTITALL
Way back when, I once slept in the Blue Jays dugout between a concert load out and working an Argos game the next morning.
HAHAHAHA. Content warning before the Sportsnet post-game show. That's amazing.
