It’s a winning strategy. Remember that one guy everyone called “The Big Cheeto”? We never heard from him again.
stop calling him "Stephen Miller"

Start calling him "Fascist Squidward"

This government could have been defeated last week. It’s not as though Carney’s intentions and preferences were unknown.
Lets face it, this is a good day for oil companies, businesses, and those in the oil sector. Its a bad day for the environment and for reconciliation with Indigenous nations whose lands this thing will go over. As Blanchet stated, this is the official end of Canada's climate commitments.

That depends as much on the outcome of the NDP race and the horribleness of Poilievre’s next campaign as on anything Carney’s doing.
Carney has lost the progressives who elected him.
I am saddened to say that @mark-carney.bsky.social has betrayed Canadians by entering into a MOU with Albertan fascists to further exploit fossil fuel exports.

Now that Royal Bank of Canada is the biggest company in Canada, can they now sponsor some more theatre and arts IN Canada and not just in the UK?
Or are they putting the ROYAL into RBC and forgetting the C part?

I will believe in the end of identity politics when steel and lumber (28,000 jobs and 105,000 jobs respectively) stop getting bailouts, while higher education (310,000 jobs) collapses in front of our eyes because it's full of ivory tower elites

Vince Gasparro went rogue. That’s clear. What you’re seeing now is an attempt to make it seem like he only went a little bit rogue.

Solo is a far more coherent movie than Rogue One (despite also being hacked together), but the stuff in Solo that’s supposed to be funny is so bad it keeps it down the list. Rise of Skywalker vs AOTC for worst is a coin toss. Though, Revenge of the Sith is also end-to-end awful.
i would push rogue one down and bring solo and the last jedi up. i’d also place attack of the clones at the bottom.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

The theory is that he's suppressing the results because they're bad news.

But what if it's actually because they are good news, and he's hiding them because they'd undermine his case for taking control of school boards and/or eliminating elected Trustees?

My father has been completely consumed by Alzheimer’s. The man who raised me and who I love is gone. He doesn’t even appear in flashes anymore. I never want to go through that or anything even close to that. I fear loss of memory, but I’m terrified of being a burden to my loved ones. Ice floe.
I wouldn't tell anyone else how to feel about it, but man, one of my strongest & longest-standing convictions is that if I am diagnosed with dementia or alzheimers, I want you to take me out back & put me down, immediately. I don't fear death *nearly* as much as I fear loss of cognition & memory.

Stiles is excellent IMHO, esp getting kicked out of the legislature for speaking the truth yesterday. But the Liberals are just AWOL & useless. Crombie could go scorched earth on her way out but nothing. Just total duds. Explains how they picked 2 Ford-lite leaders in a row. Will they do a 3rd?
“What’s disturbing about the scandal though, is how blatant it is. Political appointees are handing out hundreds of millions of dollars from a public slush fund to organizations that are either close to the government or that hire the right political insiders.”

A 1000MW nuclear plant is about $10B. AI data centre spending is at $370 billion, and could go as high as $3 trillion by 2029, with a lot of public money in the mix and a huge need for publicly subsidised power. If nuclear truly was the most expensive technology, it’s lost the title.
Most expensive technology EVER. Longest timeline to build. Demands billion$ in taxpayer subsides. If you thought that oilsands tailings ponds are bad. See nuclear waste longevity & Check Sellafield UK.
