Why is it on Halloween doctors can just throw on an old white coat and go to a party and call it a costume? Buddy things would look *real* different around here if we all started treating this as the “wear your work clothes out in public” holiday 🙄

same tire. it’s why kept getting flats over and over: there was a big shard of glass stuck in the tire I’ve somehow missed. And even with it removed there’s a pretty sizable hole left in it ☹️

my bike facing westward hanging its head in shame. On the train headed home with a new replacement continental gatorskin tire hanging around its shoulders. Because I’ve discovered the reason I’ve gotten so many flats recently is because I had what I didn’t realize was a massive shard of glass stuck in the walls of my current tire, so it was just going to keep happening unless I just replaced it.

I live in a multi unit house on a street that’s pretty exclusively multi unit houses, and so what that means functionally is our street is like “the kid Halloween speed-run” street just because of the sheer density of people sitting out handing out candy

just found out the hard way that if you muse out loud to yourself the sentence, “I’m dying to know what happens next!” while wearing apple airpods, they’ll stop listening after the first two words and just straight up call 9-1-1 before you have a chance to notice or even stop it from happening

The flat itself was honestly no big deal, but the thing is I don’t have enough time to stop by the bike shop today so I’m riding with no back up until I get a chance to replace it. which makes me so anxious I’d almost rather just stay in 😓

I got my 3rd flat this month 😣

My bike standing upside down balancing on the handle bars and saddle on the sidewalk. Part of my boots are visible at the bottom of the frame, and in between my shoes and my bike is my old inner tube I’d just changed. My socket wrench is sitting inside it as well as the box my replacement inner tube came in. There’s a few scattered raindrops on the ground because I juuuust finished right as it was starting to rain again
