Looks like the "priority removal" of the Bloor West bike lanes under the train corridor will not remove the bike lanes, and will continue to have barrier curbs & bollards.

It will just be reconfigured to restore a lane of traffic. (Bike lanes will be slimmer then)

www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Sarkaria says the work that is set to begin on or shortly after Oct. 20 will not remove bike lanes from Bloor Street W. between Resurrection Road and Clissold Road, rather it will reconfigure the road both to include bike lanes and restore a lane of vehicle traffic that was removed when the bike lanes first went in.

Sarkaria says the bike lanes will include barrier curbs and bollards.

You must defer to the president’s determination that there is an armed rebellion in Chicago, argues the govt’s lawyer.

That’s the Trump admin’s stance on everything. When the law doesn’t allow it, lie about the facts until it’s something that would be legal, then insist others live inside the lie.

Perry: DOJ's definition of rebellion would mean that
"literally all nonviolent protest” could be considered evidence of rebellion. Is that your argument?
Hamilton: The president has determined there is a danger of a rebellion, and you must defer to that finding

The fact that this coming 9 days before the largest peaceful protest in modern American history is absolutely intentional. We will not back down. Trump and Miller can lie, smear, and threaten all they want. They will lose. No Kings, No Kings, No Kings. www.reuters.com/legal/govern...

MJT seems to suggest in this tweet that she didn't know about the coming spike in Obamacare premiums until her own adult children told her that they are going to be facing the spike.

GOP leadership was awol.

Perry says she doesn't mind the expectation that she give the president deference. But she wonders what to defer to — legal briefs or public statements.

Vancouver's TransLink is a rare success story in North American transit, with ridership almost matching pre-Covid levels. It might be the only big 🇺🇸/🇨🇦 agency that has *expanded* total bus service since 2019.

I spoke w/CEO Kevin Quinn about lessons from TransLink's rapid recovery. 🧵
The Secret to Vancouver’s Public Transit Ridership Recovery
The Canadian city’s transit agency, TransLink, bounced back from Covid even as other North American systems have struggled. Its leader explains why riders returned.

Kinship agreements are commonly used to keep Indigenous kids out of the child welfare system and with family members.

But Julia's documentation was not recognized by a #DTES housing provider, contrary to BC Housing's own guidelines. thetyee.ca/News/2025/10...

Mark Carney is rolling out legislation to supposedly crack down on hate crimes.

@desmondcole.bsky.social argues it's a bait-and-switch, a cynical attempt to blame public expressions, especially in solidarity with Palestine, for wholly unrelated acts of violence. breachmedia.ca/new-hate-cri...

One of the things that's terrifying about what's happening now is the number of Republicans who won't stand up to Trump because they're cowards who are terrified of backlash. MGT strikes me as just unhinged enough to not be sensitive to that, which turns out to be a liability for them.
