Those are about $300 usually, but there's sometimes one in auction houses and they usually go for about $70. They sew fabric, and with the proper needle they can also do fur fabrics, fur and leather. Fantastic old machines.

Most plastics will fall apart reasonably quickly, but the Singer plastic is a great little machine and not expensive new, so you can likely get a good deal.

If you see a beige metal Singer called a Slant-o-matic and it's working - GRAB IT.

If you're near a goodwill or charity store, it's always worth asking at the front - they get quite a lot of machines and they typically only put out the fancier ones. Might be able to grab one cheaply!

For learning, a plastic bodied machine is fine.

Pop a picture up when you get one and tag me, I'll talk you through it and get a couple of simple patterns scanned in. At least then you have them, and I can walk through how to sort the pattern to fit - everyone is oddly proportioned, so don't worry about that.

She whined about not having fresh food and "proper" butter to this poor family that were stuck with her mooching for 3 days (I think she left on day 4). She couldn't even sort her own food, let alone pay rent or do housework.

Astounds me she's famous for cheating with John Major, rather than this.

You can, occasionally, find bits of it on YT - unfortunately (about to age myself here), this came out on terrestrial tv - no digital stored version, so sometimes you can find it in retro vhs upload repositories.

Pfft, I'd rather just pay folks and give them a copy of the game. "Organic" just means word-of-mouth, plenty of players will do that anyway. I want you to play it so people can start that, so that's an "inorganic" start.
