Go with the over sized styling. Pair with big chunky cosy clothes perfect for this time of year. Don’t go smaller and pinch your toes. You’ll wear them once and never again.
Simon Harris’s comments on immigration won’t win FG any new votes and will alienate some of their existing base.

It happened to Sinn Fein when they tied something similar. It has happened to both Labour and the Conservatives in the UK.

It’s incredibly poor leadership after their electoral defeat.
The constitution worked perfectly. It kept grifters, layabouts, and the ultra entitled off the ballot paper, and saved us weeks of racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and transphobic dog whistles in the process.

You wanted to be on the ballot? You had 7 years to figure out your plan. #spoofers #aras25
Only FFG could preside over a housing emergency for over a decade and *still* be making things worse not better year after year.

It’s also generally accepted that we need roughly 60K new units p/a just to stand still, so setting a target of 41K is just them saying “we don’t want to solve anything”.
🏠 New dwellings completed so far in 2025

Q2 9,214

On the basis of that performance it should be a landslide for CC. It must only be dyed in the wool FFG voters blindly backing HH at this stage.
My big take away from that debate was that Heather Humphreys, like many modern politicians, is incapable of directly answering a question, preferring to stick to and repeat talking points.

Catherine Connolly seemed to be at least trying to directly engage with the questions.

This fact pops up every couple of years and is then promptly ignored by the powers that be. They’d rather claim that NIMBY driven judicial reviews are holding everything up (they’re not).

People are use planning to increase land values. They should forfeit if they don’t proceed with building.
Anyone willing to listen to Ivan Yates is already voting for Humphreys, but hopefully some undecided people see it for the smug, entitled, dishonest bullshit it is, and it helps push them towards Connolly.
"I would smear the bejaysus out of her, simply because you've nothing to lose... you've got to create a fear... in my experience, nothing works like negative campaigning."

They're really openly saying the quiet part out loud now aren't they...🤔
And nothing will change until we all start to break the cycle.

Stop clicking on rage bait, ignore the manufactured culture wars, start thinking about what really matters to you find good sources to follow.

Most of all, find a way to pay something, anything, towards real journalism. It isn’t free.
Is it any wonder we see the political centre shifting constantly to the right then? Vainly hoping to salve the fears of a public taught by constant news coverage to fear whatever gets the most clicks lately?

The attention economy distracts us all by focusing on shallow short-term stories.
The existence of trans people is suddenly being treated like we just discovered vampires living amongst us, and everyone needs to be warned of some unknown danger.

The constant coverage of these kinds of stories for ad money inevitably ends up worrying people totally unaffected by those issues.
Living in Ireland, 99% of what tr*mp says and does has feck all impact on us, but he alone must take up 10% of Irish news coverage.

The problem with immigration isn’t that it happens, it’s that host countries have failed so badly on housing & services for everyone for so long that they can’t cope.
The attention economy has acted like a black hole on the whole concept of news and journalism, (mostly) shifting it away from reporting on difficult but important concepts like the commodification of housing, climate issues and wealth inequality, and replacing it with constant rage bait stories.
Ha! Well only one of those was on offer as part of my Maths degree in the 90s. Maybe things have changed now! 😅🤷‍♂️

Reason number ♾️+1 why I’ve permanently deleted my Facebook and Instagram accounts, and would dearly love to ditch WhatsApp if only others would stop using it … 🤦‍♂️
Meta permits its AI chatbots to “engage a child in conversations that are romantic or sensual,” generate false medical information and help users argue that Black people are “dumber than white people," according to a policy document seen by @reuters.com.

The presumably more successful e-scooter drugs mules in D7 appear to have upgraded to deafeningly unmuffled motorbikes now, and love nothing better than tearing up and down Manor Street and its environs at all hours.

The dangerous driving is bad enough but it’s the noise level that makes me 🤬.
Just saw a nauseating new way to describe an overpriced block of build to rent apartments:

“A new rental community”

🤢🤮

Everything about build to rent is by its very nature anti community.
I voted for Eoin Hayes, and deeply regret it. I didn’t know he had worked for Palantir, and wouldn’t have voted for him if I had.

Some of that is on me for not digging deeper myself before voting, but I think the Soc Dems showed very poor judgement by running him in the first place.
Eoin Hayes' readmission to the Social Democrats has stirred the hornet's nest, with deep discomfort within the party over the move, key people resigning from roles and fellow parties of the left criticising the decision #spéirghorm #irishpol

I remember bringing two famous DJs to Ned’s on Townsend Street around 8am after being cut off and then chucked out of the hotel resident’s bar (after one of the DJs tried to serve himself post cut off!).

In hindsight maybe we were the weird ones in the early house … 🤪
The Welcome Inn was a great spot, such a shame it see it rotting away all this time.

I don’t remember ever being scared even in the rough spots, although I got plenty of odd looks for my 90s indie dance “fashion”.

The weirdest were always the early houses post rave, Trinity Ball, or even wedding!
Walking is woke 🤷‍♂️😅
