Healthcare analytics, former public defender, former tax editor, I get around. Data, law, dad. Cincinnati/NKY
It involved a laser. That’s all I can say about it. I’m still hunted by process servers for RCA Records. Just know that the peace you enjoy today was born of sacrifice.

The idea that noncitizens lack 4A rights is absurd. I litigated criminal cases for 10 years, in rural KY no less. Plenty of noncitizen clients w traffic stops, frisks, etc. No prosecutor ***ever*** even imagined making that argument.
JUST IN: A federal judge has barred ICE and DHS from using taxpayer information provided by the IRS.

Judge Talwani says that DHS' view that noncitizens lack 4th amendment rights — combined with ICE use of administrative warrants — is a recipe for abuse.

My mom worked in the Special Credit dept at the bank. You made it to Special Credit if you had borrowed a lot of $$ for a biz loan and were in default. She knew all the dirt and had a list of places I was not allowed to apply to when I started looking for a job.
there's also a bunch of PIs who do a secret third thing (due diligence prior to commercial real estate purchases and development, my mom was one for an engineering firm)
what people think PIs doing: be Benoit Blanc

what PIs actually do: mostly investigate infidelity

And now you know why I left publishing 5 years ago.
This alludes to something I am annoyed by which is that the higher ups in the company are the ones who created the situation at WaPo where all the subscribers left, and now the same higher ups are going “someone needs to pay a price for this” but they’re firing the sports guy instead of themselves
A staggering statement from former Washington Post editor Marty Baron: "This ranks among the darkest days in the history of one of the world's greatest news organizations."

We have (2) and (3). And if the shepherd ever tried to pick a fight with god the dog would win.

I once got snowed into Indianapolis and we stayed someplace that had a boot print on the ceiling and a sign that said “No refunds after 15 minutes”.
This hotel I am staying in for trial may be the grimmest place I have ever stayed and that includes the room in Budapest I shared with several Swiss and a monkey

Pore health? Poor health? Pour health? Is weed legal yet? If Gatewood Galbraith were alive today . . .
This Beef Fat Cosmetics bill passed out of committee with no discussion. Look for coverage to come on Kentucky's pore health. #kyga26
Finally, Kentucky is getting a bill in committee tomorrow to exempt homemade tallow-based cosmetics from packaging and labeling regulations. I know many of you here have been asking.

It's gonna be one hell of a long, hot summer.

We held our kid’s 4th bday party at a local park and some guy down the street was welding in the same basement where kept a shitload of fireworks. First lots of booms and then 5 or 6 different fire departments sent trucks. The 4 yo thought it was all for his birthday and loved it.
Add another entry in the Book of Plumber Crimes: I thought at first this was Homeowner Crimes but then got to "He informed IFD that he was aware of the use of a blow torch on active gas pipes but noted his experience as a plumber"
ATTN: @rahaeli.bsky.social , I have found Brand New Levels of PLUMBER CRIMES. (Thanks to a friend sharing a screenshot image with me.)

Toughest congressperson in America rears back for a punch, and refuses to cut short townhall, after asshole sprays her with something.

For the nonlawyers out there, withdrawals from representation can be quiet (“client and counsel believe it is the best interests to have different representation”) or loud (“client disagrees on Important Things and I ain’t doing those things”). This is Very Loud.
The judge has ordered a prompt hearing on Thursday in response to petitioners claim that ARC is violating the court order to freeze $4.7M of its bank assets & should be held in contempt of court. Order also notes that ARC attorneys said they want to withdraw because clients are ignoring their advice
