This is Utah in case anyone’s wondering how pissed off people are. I have never seen anything like this.

I asked the one high ranking policeman I saw on 5th Ave why there were so few police. He said “We did not expect anything like this. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve only got 44 officers out here — and it’s a great crowd, great event, no incidents.”

newspapers are still bad at covering protests. They’re late to the game, they’re not sure how to write about, they default to what happened early in day or just in their city. Big dailies don’t put big picture writers on job.

3-5 million people rallied all over country today. That’s fucking huge

If you're one of those "where are the protests" because the news has been ignoring them the past two months, there are 25,000 people gathered in DC today, and 20+ blocks full of people in Manhattan, and that's just two cities.

The protests have been happening; you're just being lied to again.

This is a politics of annihilation... It is a form of slow violence, where existence itself is made tenuous, where immigrants, dissidents, the poor, and the racialized are left in a state of permanent vulnerability, their lives dictated not by the rule of law but by the whims of power.
