I try to stay informed about the tech world & all things other people seem really interested and invested in (capital, mostly). What I understand from this post (s.o raised millions in 36hrs for a start-up) is that they are ‘training data’ for ‘agents’ for AI as if they all were people. Meta-AI. 🐢🐢🐢

As a solo founder (with ChatGPT as my ‘CTO’ (brain emoji), this milestone means a lot. Lucent is tackling one of AI’s biggest bottlenecks: training data for browser agents - the kind that helps models actually use the internet to get things done.”

My new article “Asylum Interviews in the UK. The problem of evidence and the possibility of applied anthropology” has just been published with Social Anthropology / Anthropologie Sociale (33/3: 51-65). In this article, I interrogate the process how evidence is established in asylum procedure by engaging with anthropological and socio-legal literature on evidence and credibility assessments. Drawing on ethnomethodology, I analyse asylum interviews and show in what ways evidence can be understood as the result of an asymmetrical co-construction.

I live by this and try to adapt the requirements of university education to this outlook on what it truly means to learn and to educate. I think it is possible to do so even in times of increasing market competition, decreasing funding & time constraints

When has America not been a (war) torn, destitute country? Everyone is still in complete denial - I’ve asked myself before, I’m asking myself now: do those who continue saying “This is not who we are!” just have a very strong adherence to values or are they simply in denial?
It’s going to get worse.
