Just thinking about when I came here last year and everyone was so excited. And when things bad everyone left. It’s human nature I guess I just hope to feel more and every time I meditate on this year I just wonder… is it self-preservation or is it me?
Someone said my team on here has run on good vibes… I haven’t had a laugh like that in months, it’s good vibes when someone is fine. When things get tough, everyone buggers off. It’s easier to ignore them to realise the fact that someone that committed that year is not well. HOU versus me, I guess.

ai is already fucking us, it just is not in the mainstream in the us, it is still a concept in workflows and environment here it controls there weather and eugenics
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

Ketel Marte’s bat speed split is wild. As a lefty, he sits around 73 mph, middle of the pack. As a righty, he’s near 79 mph and basically top-3 in the league. Faster than Judge or Vlad Jr. this year — only Caminero and Stanton are ahead. Trade ideas? @cptowers.bsky.social

Players weren’t inherently more (or less!) “loyal” prior to 1975. They just were legally prohibited from becoming free agents unless their team wanted them to become free agents. Thats not the same thing as Tony Gwynn or Cal Ripken or whoever.

One of the things that frustrates me about stat discussions is there are a lot of simplistic shorthand stats that are either thrown out completely or treated as gospel. One thing the last 10+ years of public baseball research has shown is the whole sport is complicated, interconnected, and messy.
Pitchers control a decent chunk of their ball in play outcomes. Stuff metrics often correlate better with quality of contact than they do whiffs.
DIPS was an incredible breakthrough of its time, groundbreaking research that correctly challenged a lot of orthodoxy. Its time was also 25 years ago.
