New paper by my student, Becky Upton:

Across 60 countries, those countries with higher beliefs that manhood is a precarious social status tened to have more violence against women, attitudes more condoning of violence, and weaker legal protections for violence against women.

This video of Sugriva using Instagram is shocking because it's so similar to how humans use social media--engaging with content that triggers our emotions, like images of our friends and foes.

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

Change is hard.

This is an absurd and offensive overreach of non-experts telling experts what to teach. What's next, climate scientists can't talk about global warming? Biologists can't talk about evolution?

Besides being another example of how Republicans try to blame everything on trans people, this is a reflection of how little Trump understands about trans identity. What does "want to have transgender for everybody" even mean? I want transgender folks to be happy, safe and free from govt intrusion.
Trump: "They want to have transgender for everybody. These people are crazy -- the Democrats. So if it has to shut down, it'll have to shut down. But they're the ones that are shutting down the government."

It has approved a new rule restricting student visas to 4 years max. That's not long enough for PhD students, or about half of undergrads, to finish their degree.

Likely to enter force within days.
