We need to start putting a $ amount to these stunts so taxpayers can see what we’re footing.
ICE boats trawling the Chicago River. This is the DUMBEST thing I've seen in my entire life. No exaggeration. What's next? Humvees loaded with armed, masked agents patrolling Disney's Main Street U.S.A.?

I take mine to Batteries Plus.
Don’t know who needs to hear it, but since Minneapolis stopped accepting batteries for recycling a few years ago AND RECOMMENDED PUTTING THEM IN THE TRASH, I take them to Ace Hardware, which accepts them. I’ve take regular batteries; not sure if lithium/rechargeable also accepted.

Oh you broke ranks and squandered your politically advantageous position on the government shutdown, and the audacious gambit resulted in the most obvious outcome imaginable? You really are a Democrat.

Van Hollen's 2028 campaign messaging is off to a good start.
Tomorrow, the Senate will vote on an extension of ACA tax credits.

This vote boils down to one question: how many working people deserve to lose their health insurance to fund tax breaks for billionaires?

My answer: zero.

Tomorrow we will know Republicans’ answer.

A top read of 2025
Other countries have safety nets. The US has women.

Their labor creates the illusion of a DIY society, making it seem like we don't need a net.

Writing HOLDING IT TOGETHER was a labor of love and fury and I'm so grateful to share it with you all #PubDay

“There’s a lot of performativeness,” he said. “Trump can hold meetings with a foreign leader in front of the mantle that he’s decorated with all the gold trappings, and it’s the backdrop for its performance of a successful businessman who is now president.”
The original White House--like the Capitol--was deliberately NOT garish. They were supposed to reflect republican governance: not monarchies, not aristocracies. They were supposed to show a commitment to We the People.

The current decorations are the precise opposite.

Dial up the ridicule and let's end this.
I’m trying to check myself here, but I feel like Trump is locked in a downward spiral. Authoritarians really depend upon a culture of fear in which their coalition is cowed into submission.

Once significant cracks appear and there isn’t a sense of inevitability, it’s hard to put back.
