Transphobes get fucked forever
The EU has just voted, by a VERY wide margin, for the full recognition of trans women as women…!

80s movies are a real serious indictment of boomer parenting and the culture of how boomers treat their children, even to this day.

The parents are ALWAYS self absorbed, disinterested, or reactionary. And it very much reflects the experiences of those of us with parents in that cohort.

Hey I get that most pet stores are run by Jackasses who insists Bettas are okay in tiny fish bowls but this is a whole different level of jackassery.

This needs to stop.

Teachers, if you have a conscience, ignore the parents.
The UK just proposed new school guidance that effectively bans even social transition for trans students (using a different name, pronoun or haircut). It implements a full bathroom ban while requiring mandatory outing of trans youth if a teacher suspects they are trans.

'Vast majority' of parents should be involved if children question gender, schools told
School leaders welcome the "greater clarity" on how to handle the polarising issue for parents and pupils.

Knights of Guinevere Greenlight. New Owl House Graphic Novels.

Holy shit, what's next? We get a do over on the ending of Star vs. The Forces of Evil? A She-Ra and the Pricesses of Power sequel movie?

Everyone needs to be aware that this man, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, the man who oversees federal regulation of medicine, seriously rejects the germ theory of disease and believes that illness is an outward manifestation of a lack of moral worth.

There you have it, the gov wants trans kids to rot in the closet
This explicit transphobia is spelled out in excruciating detail. Direct from Cass again.

Want it to be faithful to the original?

Listen, I know what I'm doing. You bet it'll be faithful to the original.

Who currently holds the rights and can you buy them for me?

Because I got ideas.

Want a goofy ass western tokusatsu that is campy as hell?

I got you.

Want something closer to Irish Mythology, slightly more mature ( lite pg 13), with a little bit of moral ambiguity?

I still got you.
Saban’s Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog (1998-1999).

Medieval Irish Themed Tokusatsu.

It works. It all works.

Battle Thunder SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED.

As is, pure satisfactory, grim open ending be dammed.

This one’s for you, @definitelyvita.bsky.social.

Take the Ride, kids.

FOREST BEFORE ME!!

Incidentally, you know whats a much better attempt to recapture 1980s horror and adventure than Stranger Things?

Joe Dante's "The Hole". While it skews younger, I think it really captures some of the themes of a lot of the eighties horror films.
February 12, 2026 at 9:10 PM
I should give Wolfen another shot, I didn't care for it when I saw it. Or even American Werewolf for that matter. I was always a bigger fan of "The Howling".

But I've always been a shameless Joe Dante fan.

My understanding is that Craven considered making Freddy a child molester but that never got too far. He figured it was in bad taste and, I'm going to speculate, was too much of a distraction from the other themes that were being developed.

"She's a well-behaved child. We've raised her with manners"
February 12, 2026 at 8:21 PM
Oh, exactly! It's all over the film. And the only other film Craven was involved with (until New Nightmare) continues (and expands) on the metaphor.

I think he was really on to something here.
