I'm so sick of evasive pessimism. The fact that things can't be perfect isn't an excuse to not even try to make them good. Let's stop using fatalism as a mollifying trump card to end productive discussion.

I know it's scary to pay attention right now. I know it's tempting to hunker down and hope that it goes away. But there are people who don't have the privilege of ignorance right now. None of us will if we continue burying our heads in the sand and hoping this will blow over. Please pay attention.

Instead of nuanced criticisms of specific actions by doctors or public health, there have been attacks against the profession and public health as a whole.

Result: by climbing on the carcasses of experts, Elon now can claim he’s an expert because he says so.
